Can I block a range of IP addresses?

I'm trying to block a range of IP addresses, like 172.23.* but I can't figure out how. Even if I enter an entire IP address, I get a little balloon saying "You must use this format:" but it doesn't say what format to use!

Best answer
The free version is very limited in terms of features. Many other advanced features including IP Range blocking are available in IP Blocker Pro.
